Dave started DART auto in 2001. He intended to have a side business fueled by their passion for sports cars while still pursuing a career in commercial real estate. DART was selling used Porsches and Porsche parts. Dave has a business background with a degree in Finance and experience in retail, real estate and sales. But his passion has always been cars. At 15 years old, armed only with a haynes manual he rebuilt the engine in his 68 Mustang and converted the automatic to a manual transmission. He has owned, repaired and modified American, European, Japanese and British cars. Just before he started DART Dave bought a 71 911, which he quickly sold to purchase a 72 911 with an RS pec motor. This was followed by a 70 911 that was to become his #73 race car and a crashed 911 turbo look car. The suspension on the turbo look went on the race car, and there were a whole bunch of other parts from both cars to put on ebay. And thus the used Porsche business was born. For 19 years, Dave raced with the Porsche Club of America, SCCA, NASA, RMVR, WRL and various other race organizations. Porsche racing is on the back burner now, as Dave is exploring motorcycle track days.

DART evolved over time as Dave continued racing. There was some basic race prep for vintage Porsches, used parts sales and new parts sales. In 2005 Dave bought the location for the current DART auto, looking to expand into Porsche service. Over time, with the hiring of factory trained European car technicians and a substantial investment in tools and information to properly repair these cars, DART has evolved into the full service repair facility it is today.

Peter Cappelli started with Porsche in 2006, attending the Porsche Technology Apprenticeship Program in Atlanta Georgia. After graduation he moved to Virginia, working in the DC Metro area and became a Gold Certified Porsche Technician. Taking a break from Porsche for several years, he went on to Tesla Motors and helped with the launch of the Model S, furthering his electrical diagnosis and hybrid / electric vehicle skills. He has always loved working on European vehicles and came back to Porsche, moving to Colorado. Now working for Dart, he is able to expand his knowledge to other European brands. His interests and hobbies include General Aviation, camping with his family, hunting and homebrewing beer.

I started out as a technician in 1995. In 2002 I became a certified BMW master technician. Prior to joining Dart Automotive in 2018. I worked at a BMW Dealership in both California and Colorado.

Throughout my life i have owned several different types of BMW. What I am most proud of though is being the owner of a 1972 2002 tii which I reconditioned. My passion for European cars has only grown since working for Dart automotive as I now gets to work on all type European automobiles.
