BMW M3 Convertible Top
A 2004 BMW M3 convertible came in for repair after its cover plate hydraulic cylinders began leaking, causing interior damage. The repair required replacing the cylinder sets and bleeding the hydraulic system.
- The M3 convertible uses 6 hydraulic cylinders to operate the top and cover plate. Leaking fluid can damage the pump and cause the top to stop working.
- Cylinders are sold in sets with hydraulic lines attached. The entire top must be removed and the upholstery peeled back to access and replace the lines.
- Interior panels were removed to complete the install. The job finished with a full bleed of the hydraulic system and final testing of the new unit.
