Suspension Warning Message on a 2016 Lamborghini Huracán
At Dart Auto, we recently worked on a 2016 Lamborghini Huracán that came in with a suspension warning message on the dash. The customer was concerned about the alert and wanted to make sure the vehicle was safe and performing as it should. With high-performance vehicles like this, even a small warning can point to something more serious, so we took a thorough diagnostic approach.
When we began our inspection, there were no active faults showing on the instrument cluster at that moment. However, after scanning the vehicle’s systems, we found a stored fault code: C103607, indicating a mechanical failure with the rear left vehicle height sensor. From there, we monitored live sensor data and noticed that the left rear sensor showed significantly less movement compared to the others, which helped narrow down the issue.
We then inspected the vehicle on the lift to get a better look at the suspension components. The height sensor itself appeared to be properly connected and moving freely, which ruled it out as the primary failure. However, we found that the left rear shock was blown out and leaking fluid, covering the surrounding axle area. Because of this failure, the left rear wheel wasn’t traveling as much as the right side, which explains why the sensor readings were off and triggered the warning.

Based on our findings, we recommended starting with replacement of the left rear strut assembly. Once a shock fails like this, it can no longer properly control suspension movement, and it often leads to secondary warnings like the one the customer experienced. Replacing the strut and restoring proper suspension function is the correct first step before reassessing the system.
For other owners of a Lamborghini Huracán, this is a good reminder that suspension warnings don’t always mean a sensor has failed. In many cases, the sensor is doing its job by reporting a mechanical issue elsewhere. Leaking shocks, uneven ride height, or reduced wheel travel can all trigger these types of alerts.
At Dart Auto, we focus on diagnosing the root cause, not just replacing parts based on codes. In this case, identifying the failed shock early helps prevent further wear on suspension components and keeps the vehicle performing the way it was designed to.

FAQ
Why would a Lamborghini Huracán show a suspension warning message?
A suspension warning can be triggered by issues like faulty sensors, leaking shocks, or uneven ride height. The system is designed to detect changes in suspension behavior.
Can a bad shock cause a sensor fault code?
Yes, it can. If a shock fails and limits normal movement, the height sensor may report incorrect or limited data, triggering a fault code even if the sensor itself is working properly.
Is it safe to drive with a blown shock?
It’s not recommended. A blown shock reduces vehicle stability, handling, and braking performance, especially in a high-performance car like a Huracán.
