We started with the engine’s vitals. On a 911, the spark plugs are tucked away, but replacing them is critical. Over time, plugs wear down, leading to misfires or a loss of that crisp throttle response the GTS is known for. More importantly, leaving them in too long can lead to corrosion or seizing in the cylinder head—an expensive headache we prevent by swapping them out now.
While we were in there, we replaced the engine air filter. A Porsche engine is essentially a giant air pump; if it can’t breathe, it can’t make power. The fresh filter ensures the engine gets the clean, high-velocity air it needs for maximum fuel efficiency and performance.
Reliability Under the Hood: The Drive Belt
The drive belt is the unsung hero of your engine. It powers the water pump and the alternator. We replaced the belt on this GTS because, after years of heat cycles, rubber begins to deteriorate and crack. - PDK Transmission Fluid: Over time, this fluid degrades and becomes contaminated with microscopic particles from the internal wet clutches. Fresh fluid ensures the lightning-fast, seamless shifts the PDK is famous for.
- PDK Clutch Fluid: This specific fluid is responsible for lubricating and cooling the clutches. By replacing it, we ensure the transmission stays cool under pressure and extend the lifespan of the entire unit.
